Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with outgoing Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa and congratulated Hayashi on his successful tenure as Foreign Minister. The Secretary thanked his Japanese counterpart for being a leading voice in support of Ukraine in the G7, at the United Nations, and throughout his travels around the world, including his recent visit to Ukraine. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Hayashi re-emphasized the importance of the U.S.-Japan Alliance to the continued security and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific.
