Shoebacca donates $25,000 worth of shoes to the Dallas Dream Center's Back to School Event
This week, the New Dallas Based Dream Center will partner with local online retailer Shoebacca to bring $25,000 worth of new shoes for over 500 children during the Dream Center's Back to School Event for South Dallas residents in need.
"From day one, our company's sole mission has always been to help our local communities, and it remains our number one priority. We were so pleased to hear about the new Dallas Dream Center chapter and jumped at the opportunity to help their cause, especially during Back to School when these families need help the most. We are thrilled to be able to assist others during these challenging times and are grateful to have such a wonderful organization in our hometown." - Ryan Schlachter, President, Shoebacca.com
Los Angeles-born Dream Center is an organization that helps underprivileged communities with everyday resources such as food, clothing, hotline services, crisis services, pregnancy management and more. The Dallas chapter recently purchased the Old Gospel Lighthouse in South Dallas and is currently raising funds for its 10-million-dollar renovation to be able to offer permanent resources for the area and its residents. The center is slated to open its doors in early 2023.
In partnership with the R Foundation, Amerigroup and other Dallas sponsors, the Dream Center's Back to School Event will take place on August 6 at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the soon-to-be-built community center. The event will give families the opportunity to attend and enjoy carnival games, food trucks and more while also stocking up on supplies such as backpacks, food, school supplies and shoes from their newest donor, Shoebacca.com.
"Shoebacca has been an incredible partner of Dream Center Dallas and the communities we serve. Families are struggling to make ends meet every single day while carrying the burden of getting their children ready for a new school year and lacking the resources to do so. Supplying 500 pairs of brand-new shoes for children will give them a boost of confidence and hope - we believe that when people have hope they can do ANYTHING. We are so grateful for this generous gift to our community!" - Kacie Kintz, Dream Center Dallas Director

GWS Tool Group is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement to acquire Balax Inc. This is the second acquisition in 2022 for GWS, as it continues its acquisition strategy as a subsidiary company of Walter AG.
This is the second acquisition by GWS in 2022 after an incredibly active 2021 wherein five add-on acquisitions were effected. This is also the second add-on acquisition by GWS since joining Walter and the Sandvik family of companies in December 2021, and signals an intent to continue with an aggressive M&A plan that has made GWS so successful in its growth ambitions in recent years. The continued expansion of GWS by way of acquisitions and constant investment in world-class technology, equipment and, most importantly, people, has created a compelling value proposition for customers operating in advanced machining environments, especially in the areas of custom round and insert tooling.
Located in North Lake, Wisconsin, Balax has been committed to manufacturing the highest quality taps in the market for the last 65 years. Founded in 1958, Balax is responsible for pioneering modern cold forming taps with Lead Form Geometry Correction, reducing tapping torque. Over the years, the company has expanded to over 45,000 sq/ft of manufacturing space, controlling all aspects of manufacturing in-house, including blank preparation, heat treatment, surface treatments and automated CNC grinding operations. Product offerings include Thredfloer® and Thredshaver® taps, as well as premium gauges.
"Balax is a premium tap brand with global recognition as a leader in cold forming technology," said Rick McIntyre, GWS' CEO. "The quality of their products combined with their production capability to produce world-class taps for high-volume customers complements our existing short-run custom tap platform perfectly," McIntyre continued.
"I am thrilled to have Balax join GWS Tool Group," said Thomas Mclure, co-owner of Balax Inc. "The premium taps we bring to market, driven by decades of quality and innovation, will only be bolstered via that of GWS. Aligning ourselves with a company that is so strongly committed to growth and American manufacturing is undoubtedly in the best interests of our customers and our invaluable employees."

Dramatically improving the traditional student portal by extending personalized experiences to prospects, students, faculty and alumni, Pathify is on track to more than double revenue for the fourth consecutive year.
"It's amazing to see how schools react when we have the opportunity to show off the platform," said Matt Hammond, Chief Revenue Officer at Pathify. "Our product and engineering teams have done an incredible job maintaining the obvious innovation and capability advantage for several years now. I could say we let the results speak for themselves — but thankfully our customers take care of that."

Kush.com Names John Lynch as CEO, Acquires Tradecraft Origin and Receives Backing From MacDonald...
Kush.com, the nation's largest B2B network of cannabis products, is expanding its reach into restaurants, grocers, convenience stores, and retail sectors. The expansion has received backing from veteran tech entrepreneur and investor Steve MacDonald, whose MacDonald Ventures led the company's latest funding round.
The historic announcement from Kush.com comes after its acquisition of TradeCraft Origin and naming its founder John Lynch Chief Executive Officer of Kush.com. The decision opens the door to Kush.com adding beverages, edibles, skin topicals and vaping products to its lines of CBD and hemp-related products. The vast network of prominent restaurant chains, beverage companies and retailers built by Lynch at TradeCraft since 2019 will fuel the expansion.
Lynch brings a 25-year record of driving market growth in consumer packaged goods for major brands such as Coca-Cola, Boston Beer Company, The Gallo Winery, Zico, and Wtrmlnwtr. Known within the cannabis industry as well, Lynch led the global expansion of prominent Pax Labs, the most recognized global brand in cannabis.
"John's deep relationships in the beverage and cannabis industries will be essential as Kush.com continues to build out the products and services that retailers and consumers need for the legal CBD industry now, and as it grows with national legalization," said MacDonald, who is also a leading figure in the Florida tech ecosystem and supporter of Florida's #1 accelerator Tampa Bay Wave.
"Supply chain and quality control issues are major obstacles to the mainstream adoption of cannabis-connected products. We are the enterprise to solve those problems," added Lynch. "We will do that by connecting consumers to trustworthy, effective brands. Kush.com will serve as the bridge for local businesses to connect to brands that are safe and reliable."
Kush.com's curated network of carefully vetted producers, processors, and retailers of legal CBD and cannabis products includes 50,000 brands and companies. This Kush.com network of verified seed growers, testing labs, and distributors has become the go-to-market resource of more than 6,000 industry professionals. Cannabis, CBD and related brands face the challenge of having trusted channels to connect to consumers, and Kush.com's unique differentiator is solving the industry brand dilemma by being their trusted go-to market strategy source.
Kush.com co-founder Chase Nobles was at the forefront of building the world's largest hemp marketplace and launching the innovative KushCon events. Nobles will now take on the role of Chief Product Officer and President.
"We have spent the past seven years building the industry's largest network of brands," said Nobles. "As more consumers and health professionals recognize the very real benefits of these products, demand will increase exponentially. Our expansion allows us to ensure efficacy, quality control, and safety standards are part of this landscape, as more and more products are legalized, including THC." This leadership team of industry experts is poised to bring vetted brands to mainstream retail and on-premise locations.
Tech entrepreneur and investor Steve MacDonald, whose MacDonald Ventures led Kush.com's latest funding round, has been named Chairman of the board. MacDonald is general partner in the Florida Funders VC fund and has invested in more than 100 startups and has more than $400 million in exits in companies he founded. He previously built and led two tech startups solving similar challenges in the pharmacy industry and is now adding his expertise as an investor and Chairman of Kush.com.
"Kush.com will be the most efficient, reliable route to market for CBD now, and a turnkey path to future THC market authority. It will solve distributors' biggest challenges and I'm grateful to be a part of its growth," MacDonald said.
The company is also proud to announce it is moving its corporate headquarters to Tampa from Seattle, Washington. The new Kush.com headquarters will be located at Embarc Collective — a tech-focused hub in Tampa, which has become one of the leading centers for tech startups and entrepreneurs in the Southeastern U.S.
The expansion at Kush.com fuels its initiatives to educate consumers on the highly regulated industries of hemp and cannabis products and help consumers better understand evolving federal regulations. Florida is one of 37 states that have legalized the sale of select cannabis-related products for medical or recreational use. Currently, the U.S. Congress is considering four bills to legalize marijuana nationwide.
Kush.com is the nation's largest marketplace and network of cannabis-related companies and brands. With the recent acquisition of TradeCraft Origin, it is building the infrastructure necessary to scale amid the burgeoning cannabis-products industry in retail and direct-to-consumer markets.
